So I will continue on what happened after we realized our parents could have possibly worked together. We asked each other where we lived before moving here. Coincidentally, we all moved around alot and before we moved around alot we were all living in the same state and area! Its weird how we never have seen each other before. :-o When we told Audree on Friday at school she suggested we ask Ms. about it. Of course we were all scared to ask. I mean, the lady does look pretty mean...even though, she really isn't, but still! Since Philip has been living with her the longest we only thought it would be practical he ask her about it. On Saturday morning when Ms. went out to buy groceries we all sat at the table surrounding Philip who who was reading a book and starting asking questions.
"So, what did Ms. say when you asked her?" asked Tony
Philip held his gaze on the book, but lifted his head up so we would know he at least heard him. After about five years he looked up at us.
"Yes...?" he asked puzzled...I guess he didn't hear Tony's question.
"Did you talk to her?" asked Jasmine irritated
"Well..." he went on
"Dude, don't tell me you chickened out." Tony smiled
"You were the one who said you didn't want to talk to her first!" Philip complained
"So, you didn't talk to her?" I asked
Philip took a while to respond. We all leaned in carefully.
"Ok, I did speak with her," he said finally, we all sighed with relief "But, she didn't give me much...in fact she barely gave me anything!"
"Ok! Ok!" Jasmine cried "What did she give you?"
"Well...I asked Ms. how she knew my parents and she said they were just business friends a long time ago."
"How long?" asked Audree
"She didn't say. I asked about everyone else's parents and she got suspicious and started asking me why I was so curious and I panicked after that. So...she said she was going to talk to all of us."
"Oh, God..." Tony said slumping back on the couch "I'm not in the mood to get a speech. I already got one from Ms. Hagrety."
I could understand his frustration. Ms. Hagrety is an old lady who is our history teacher. She gives speeches for every little thing and, I've only known her for a couple weeks now and its already annoying. For instance the bell rings and someone gets up to sharpen their pencil.
Ms. Hagrety: Class, this is ridiculous! Folks, we have been in school for nine months and you still can't get it right. Before class you need to have already a sharpen pencil and be prepared. Now because you fail to be prepared, you have the whole class waiting on you. I will not have it. If you keep this up your going to be unprepared and slow the rest of your life and won't get into a good college, and you'll be making minimum wage and saying "Would you like fries with that?" for the rest of your life. And let me tell you, minimum wage is not gonna cut it...it's just not. Not with this economy. So, folks you need to get it together.
I am not even kidding. That is exactly what she does. She also has this obsession with note cards. She makes us write questions on the front of them and the answers to the back to study with. Already she's suggesting we have about 1000 note cards! Is she kidding?! No. She never kids. I know her being hard on us will help in the future but...chill out. I'm smart enough not to end up at McDonald's. Then she goes on and on about colleges and how it's so important to have note cards and to study and she always calls us folks. Folks this and folks that. I wanna folks her face!....which makes no sense. :-o There is no other teacher like her on earth. Bet me if you want cause I know she's the only one.
Moving on, at dinner it was pretty quiet. I guess we were all waiting for Ms. to talk to us, but it wasn't happening...maybe she forgot. I considered this and I nudged Philip next to me. He looked at me nervously. I put a face telling him to do it and he sighed.
"So, heh heh," Philip started "Ms. you said you wanted to talk to us?"
We all looked at her. She lifted her head up from her food and looked at us confused.
"Did I say that?" she said and went back to eating
"Yes!" we all said at the same time
Ms. looked back at all of us surprised, then raised an eye brow.
"I just wanted to say that, you should all stop worrying about your parents. They did the right thing by sending you here. Your safe here. Your parents are completely safe from-" we all looked at her expectantly "Nothing...I'm finished. Just sop poking your nose where it's not meant to be." she got up "Finish eating. Your Americans, that's what you do right?" she left taking her plate and right before she left the room she said "Right,"
Now we all know she knows something. She knows that we were all once in danger...and still are.
Ms. Hagrety sounds a whole lot like Mr. Hardy!!!!! HAHAHA
